Summer Reads

Hi Everyone,

For those who may be wondering, I am finally back from summer break. Although I have not posted in a while I have been busy reading many books over the summer. My favourite one I read was The Everafter by Amy Huntley.

I had been wanting to read this book for so long because of the fascinating cover (above). Have you ever lost something and wondered if you may ever find it again? How would you feel if you were reunited with those objects in death? This is exactly the way Amy Huntley approaced the topic of death in The Everafter. At first I imagined this book to be more towards to horror side, but instead it was quite enlightening and moving. In this novel, every object that Maddy (main character) may have lost during her life time takes on a new meaning in after life. It becomes an entry to the people that Maddy loves and the moments that she had with them. Whereas more than that, those objects are like pieces of knowledge that helps Maddy craft and piece together what her life was like and eventually move on to the next chapter. Huntley portrayed an incredible concept with this book and demonstrated an intriguing view upon afterlife. The Everafter is a book I definitely recommend reading!

Sadly, I did not read as much as I would have liked because I was with my family driving to USA and I cannot read in moving vehicles (I get awfully sick). However, I do have a list of what I would love to read after I finish my current book; Haunted by Barbara Haworth-Attard.

1. The Lovely Bones ~ Alice Sebold
2. The Poison Garden ~ Sarah Singleton
3. The Fault in Our Stars ~ John Green
4. Before I Go To Sleep ~S. J. Watson

As you may notice, The Lovely Bones by Alice Sebold is bolded. I was reccommened this book by one of my friends, and she explained a little bit about what the book was about. I was so interested and I cannot wait to read this book! I am so excited!!

Anyways, are there any books that you may recommend for me? I would personally love to hear my readers opinions. I hope you all had a fabulous summer and stick around for some more posts!
